Ihedioha Wants `New Wigs’ To Uphold Nobility Of Legal Profession

Rep. Emeka Ihedioha, the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, has called on new lawyers to sustain the dignity in the legal profession.

The Deputy Speaker made the call when the Imo Law School graduates, called to bar on Nov. 20 visited him in Abuja on Thursday.

Ihedioha congratulated the graduates for the “feat’’? they had achieved as lawyers and for constituting themselves into a family.

“I congratulate you for chosen a noble profession, in practice,? I urge you to show nobility, you must show yourselves that you are noblemen,’’ he emphasised.

He also commended the youths for participating in the just concluded public hearings on the review of the 1999 Constitution.

Earlier, Mr Kingson Uwandu, the National President of Imo law school graduates, lauded the deputy speaker for identifying with the youths.

He said that the deputy speaker had so far shown a focused leadership in the National Assembly.

“We the new wigs are so proud of you. You have changed our orientation in the past,? you and others? have? shown purposeful leadership in the National Assembly,’’ Uwandu said.

Uwandu, however, expressed concern over the huge tuition fees that students in the law schools had to pay.

According to him, people pay through their noses in the law school.

He called on the National Assembly to put in place necessary measures that could assist the law school students in the area of school fees.
