The National Directorate of Employment (NDE), in Jigawa has begun a three-month training for 50 persons with disabilities under its ''Special Needs'' scheme.
Muhammad Sambo, State Coordinator told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Monday in Dutse that the programme also included orphans, widows and the vulnerable groups.
He explained that the trainees included 40 women and 10 men selected from the Association of The Disabled and Agency for Nomadic Education in Dutse.
The NDE Coordinator said that the women would be trained in tailoring, soap production, cream making and knitting, while the men would be trained in leather works.
Sambo stated that the directorate would offer N 2,000 as monthly allowances and N 20,000 as resettlement allowance to each of the trainees.
According to him, at the end of the training, a revolving loan will be provided to beneficiaries to be paid back in 12 months.
