The parliamentary staff association of Nigeria has granted hosting right of the 2013 parliamentary games to Rivers state.
The decision, which was taken at the end of the 4th national executive council meeting of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) held in Ilorin, Kwara State recently. The body gave approval to Rivers State after series of deliberations and presentation of bids from other state chapters of the association.
In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the body also appealed to the clerk of the National Assembly and the secretary of National Assembly Service Commission for the release of circular on the consolidated legislative salary structure to all the state Houses of Assembly and state service commission in the federation and also welcome the Lagos State House of Assembly chapter into its hold.
The council also passed vote of confidence on the national president of the association, Comrade Fatai Jimoh and the central working committee for their commitment in piloting the affair of the association. The 2012 edition of the parliamentary games was held in Ogun State with the state emerging champions of the 10 day-long event.
