A total of 226.49 million shares worth N2.3 billion were traded in 3,582 deals on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Friday.
The News Agency of Nigerian (NAN) reports that this was against 327.28 million shares valued at N1.7 billion traded in 3,847 deals on Thursday.
NAN reports that the All-Share Index, which opened at 26,404.81, appreciated by 89.63 points or 0.34 per cent to close at 26,494.44..
Also, the market capitalisation rose by N29 billion or 0.34 per cent to close at N8.465 trillion against the N8.436 trillion recorded on Thursday.
Nestle, led the gainers’ chart with a gain of N9.19 to close at N650.11 per share.
NewGold followed with N7 to close at N2,652 per unit, while Unilever grew by N2.23 to close at N46,85 per share.
GlaxoSmithKline appreciated by 50k to close at N46.85, while UACN rose by 40k to close at N42 per share.
On the other hand, Northern Nigeria Flour Mills led the losers’ chart, dropping 96k to close at N18.43 per share.
Stanbic IBTC followed with a loss of 61k to close at N11.77 per share, while PZ Cussons lost 30k to close at N27.68 per share.
Morison depreciated by 22k to close at N4.25 per share, while Academy Press dipped by 19k to close at N1.79 per share.
