The Governor of Niger State,Dr. Muazu Babngida Aliyu has said that the state government would use agro products to accelerate the economic development of the state.
Aliyu represented yesterday by the Deputy Governor, Hon Ahmed Musa Ibeto at the National Shea Butter Conference and Exhibition in Minna maintained that agro products remain the nucleus of the vision of the state to be one of the three top economies in the country.
He said the theme of the conference, “Shea The Hidden Treasure” was apt because of the renewed determination by his administration to strengthen the economic base of the state through the abundant shea nuts in the state.
According to him “the theme is very appropriate and significant considering our desire to achieve socio-economic development using agro allied industries as premium vehicle for the industrial development of our state”.
“We are strengthening the value chain strategy where all actors and stakeholders from the input suppliers , transporters, service providers, marketers to the government agencies collaborate and cooperate to make small scale industries thrive in order to accelerate economic growth and development,” the Governor posited .
In this direction he said that the government would continue to establish formidable partnership with development partners and adopt evidence based practices for business development by improving on procedures for enabling business environment.
