Civil servants?in the state embarked?on strike over the non-implementation of the national minimum wage.???
The commissioner?told?newsmen in Jos?that the best way to settle the strike?was through dialogue and called on both labour and government to consider the option.
He said?he had already slated a meeting with the two sides?on Tuesday to?find a lasting solution to the face-off.
The police boss also said?that the new social policing agenda of the Inspector-General of Police, aimed at bringing the people and police closer, would be adopted in the command.
He explained that the police as?constituted authority,?were anchored on the rule of law and promised that his men would work within the ambit of the law.
Olakpe said?enough policemen would be posted to all parts?of the state to take charge of security of lives and property, stating that mobile police units would be established all over the state.
The commissioner?urged the public to always report suspicious characters?and volunteered his phone numbers.
He assured law abiding?people of adequate security, but warned miscreants to leave?the state because there would be no hiding place for them. (NAN)
