Gov. Peter Obi of Anambra on Thursday canvassed the support of citizens?to “kick out?polio’’ and other childhood killer diseases from the state.
Obi made the call at Umueri General Hospital in Anambra East Local Government Area at the launch of campaign on polio eradication and inauguration of the taskforce on immunisation.
He earlier visited the Atani General Hospital in Ogbaru Local Government, ?where he stressed the need to sustain the assistance of the Federal Government to the state against child killer diseases.
He?pledged?to continue to equip health institutions in the area to ensure adequate healthcare delivery services.
In a remark, the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Oseloka Obaze, also appealed to the people of the state to embrace the exercise.
Obaze urged them to promote the health of their children by bringing them out for immunisation at various centres.
He commended the turn-out of the people for the inauguration, saying that the campaign would be sustained to keep polio away from the state. (NAN)
