The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar, yesterday charged the over 18,357 police recruits, who newly graduated from police training schools across the country and have been? certified fit for the job, to prepare for security challenges.
Out of the above number, about 4,484 graduated from the Kaduna Police College yesterday.
Represented by the Commissioner of Police in charge of Inspectorate Department, the Nigeria Police headquarters, Mr. Edgar Nanakumo, the IGP reminded them of the changes in the country and how they pose huge challenges to the police.
At the passing out parade ceremony of Batch 1/2011 at the Police College, Kaduna, the IGP also charged them to be diligent in protecting the lives and property of Nigerians.
“I, therefore, implore you as trained policemen and women to be diligent, mentally and professionally prepared to surmount these challenges. In doing this our primary and sacred function of protection of lives and property must not be compromised.
