President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the constitution of the Board of Directors of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). It is headed by former Minister of Works, Chief Tony Anenih, while Chief Florence Ita Giwa is the vice chairman.?
Other members of the Board are Hon. Hamza Dan Mahawi, Sen. Lekan Mustapha, Mr. Austin Cosmos and a representative from the Federal Ministry of Transport.
The government also constituted the Board of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), with Lt-Col. Agbu Kefas (retd) as chairman, while Mr. Funsho Lawal is the chairman for the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).?
Other members of the NIMASA Board are Alhaji Hassan Baba, Ibrahim Mark, Aliyu Usman and representatives of the Federal Ministry of Transport, Labour and the Nigerian Navy.
Members of the reconstituted CAC Board are Alhaji Sanusi Maijama’a, Mr. Okoro Osita Franklin and Edosa Aigbekeen.
For the supervisory Board of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Engr. Hamman Tukur is the chairman and will be assisted by Akinsola Akinfemiwa as the vice chairman. Other members are drawn from the key agencies with relevance to the energy sector, representatives of the Ministries of Finance and Power,? the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Manufactures Association of Nigeria (MAN), electricity generation and distribution companies.
The statement announcing the appointments was signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Anyim Pius Anyim.
