Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and governor of Rivers State, Mr. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, yesterday postponed the presentation of 2013 Appropriation Bill before the State House of Assembly as a sign of honour to those killed in the ill-fated naval helicopter crash in Bayelsa State on Saturday, December 15, 2012.
The crash, which occurred along the Okoroba-Nembe Creek, killed the former governor of Kaduna State, Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, immediate past National Security Adviser (NSA), General Andrew Owoye Azazi and four other persons.
The victims were returning to Port Harcourt from Okoroba, Bayelsa State, after attending the burial ceremony of Pa Roland Douglas, the father of the special assistant to the president on Research and Documentation, Mr. Oronto Douglas.
