The people of Southern Kaduna Senatorial district have assured the Kaduna State Governor, Muktar Ramalan Yero of their support in the running of the state.
This was contained in a press release issued by Mr Ephraim Goje on behalf of the Board of Trustees of Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU), the Southern Kaduna Elders Consultative Forum (SOKECF), the national executive, Port Harcourt branch and the entire people of Southern Kaduna.
?Mr Goje who is the SOKAPU National President said, “We hereby assure the new Governor of our cooperation in the running of the affairs of the State, and wish to offer our sincere condolence to the government and people of Kaduna State in general and Yakowa family in particular, over the monumental loss of our dear Governor and son, Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa as well as our elder, late Dauda Tsoho who along with four others died in a helicopter crash on Saturday, 15th December, 2012, in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State”.
While congratulating the newly sworn in Governor of Kaduna State and praying to God to grant him the wisdom and the courage to govern the state, he also said, “ We wish to put on record our profound appreciation to the new Governor over the promise he made at his inauguration that he will continue with the equity enhancing template in the distribution of amenities and other democracy dividends which the late Patrick Yakowa established which was no doubt a veritable tool for peace and even development of the State”.
Goje encouraged the people of the southern Kaduna not to be weary in the dark moment of their political history while calling for low key Christmas celebration in honour of late Yakowa.
“For our people we wish to urge them not to despair in this dark moment of our political history. God is still on the throne and His Will is perfect. We urge all our people to celebrate the Christmas in low key manner as a mark of respect for our late brother, Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa. We should also be vigilant and report to security agents any strange and unusual presence of suspicious persons in the community,” he emphasised.
