Towards the revitalisation of the Ajaokuta steel complex and Itakpe Iron Ore mining company all in Kogi State,? Governor?? Idris Wada has solicited for a? working relations with? the Ukrainian government to revive the ailing industry.
?Wada noted that the Ukranians being the original builders of the companies will help a great deal in its resuscitation.
The governor gave the indication when he hosted the Ukrainian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Valeril Vasyliev in his office in Lokoja,? over the weekend.
The governor assured the ambassador that with their renewed co operation with? the government the aims and aspirations of its founding fathers? would still be realized .
Captain Wada expressed the hope that the reactivation of the Ajaokuta Steel Company would not only boost industrialisation of the country but also create employment opportunities for the youths.
He maintained that the collaboration? with the Ukraine government will include? the development of agriculture and solid minerals which are abound? in the state.
Earlier, the Ukraine Ambassador to Nigeria, had told the governor that he was in the state to seek economic relations with his government in view? of the abundant natural potentials available in the state which are waiting for exploitation.
He added that their experience in mechanized agriculture could assist the state in its dream to? enter? into mechanized farming.
