Mrs Uzoma maintained that the service had not started recruitment as rumoured and added that the purported exercise would soon begin and stressed that no one had been issued with any letter of employment.
“I want to put it on record that Nigeria Immigration Service has not recruited anybody, recently. The recruitment exercise is just about to begin; no single letter of appointment has been issued to any Nigerian. So it is real fabrication to suggest that we have been busy recruiting people from specific area of the country.
“It is true that we have been making effort to recruit more hands, because we actually need these officers especially for our land border areas. We don’t have enough staff to mount these areas, so we have been asking government to give us more hands, and luckily the Head of Service just granted our request to recruit and do even replacement this time around.” She stated.
