Renowned philanthropist and former Minister of Defence, Gen.Theophilous Yakubu Danjuma (rtd) yesterday condoled with Governor Mukhtar Ramallan Yero, Mrs Amina Yakowa and the people of the state over the death of Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa.
He described Yakowa’s death as not only shocking but most painful to the nation, saying, the deceased was a gentleman and an epitome of humility, who served humanity with all that he had.
Gen. Danjuma called on the new governor to build on those virtues of the late governor, and imbibe the fear of God in carrying out the leadership of the state, particularly in the area of ensuring that peace reign supreme in the state.
“The death of Yakowa is painful but God knows why, I am here to condole with you, his widow and the good people of the state, though painful his death may be but we need to take solace in God, because he knows everything.
“I urge you to imbibe the fear of God as you have taken up the mantle of leadership of the state, because when you fear God in all your doings, he will be with you and see you through.
“ I pray that may his (the late Yakowa) soul rest in peace and grant the government of Kaduna State, his wife and family, the good people of the state the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss” he prayed.
