The governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, yesterday revealed that his decision to dissolve the State Executive Council was to refocus, reenergise and reinvigorate governance in the state.
Fayemi said his action was to put in place a more virile and result oriented Cabinet which would rightly connect the government to the people.
The governor who made the revelation during the swearing-in ceremony of eight newly appointed permanent secretaries in the state civil service said it was good to restrategise over two years into his four years tenure.
Fayemi had on Wednesday announced the sack of Commissioners and Special Assistants after the weekly State EXCO meeting in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
The Permanent Secretaries included Dr Tope Adeyemo, Barr Bamidele Agbede, Mr Kola Ajumobi, Dr Olufolakemi? Olokojobi, Mr Olusesan Alabi,? Engr Abegunde Ebenezer,? Mr Owoseeni? Mathew? Adeyemi and? Mrs? Olufunke Falodun.
Fayemi, who likened his cabinet to a football team said, “ In a football match, when you get to half time, it is a onerous responsibility of the coach and team managers to review the team.
