The Kogi Deputy Gov, Mr Yomi Awoniyi, says efforts are ongoing to resuscitate the abandoned cassava processing plant in Ijumu Local government Area of the state.
Awoniyi disclosed this on Tuesday when he received the Nigerian Representatives of the Korean International Cooperative Agency (KOICA), who were in the state to explore areas of possible collaboration.
He noted that cassava is a major commodity in the ongoing Agricultural Transformation Agenda (ATA) of the Federal Government.
Awoniyi noted that the state Government had approved the electrification of the community where the project was located to fast track its completion.
He said that the state government had put in place the necessary incentives to support and encourage the agricultural sector.
Awoniyi, thanked the Korean Government for its assistance in setting up a vocational training centre at the State Polytechnic.
He also commended the government for also donating a rice milling machine to the state.
He solicited for more areas of partnership with the Korean Government.
