The Special Task Force (STF) in Jos has warned Muslims against using provocative words on other religions as they mark the Eid-el Maulud day.
This warning is contained in a statement signed by STF Media Officer, Capt. Salisu Mustapha, in Jos on Thursday.
Mustapha urged the faithful to maintain the peace in the state, adding that anyone caught using provocative words against other religion would face the full wrath of the law.
The statement warned against any acts capable of disrupting the celebration and rupturing the peace currently being enjoyed in the troubled north-central state.
He advised religious leaders to counsel their followers on the need to tolerate one another and live as people of one nation.
According to him, adequate security arrangement had been made toward a hitch-free festival and urged members of the public to support security agencies in that respect.
The STF also reminded members of the public that the ban on commercial motorcycles was still in force and warned against any disobedience. (NAN)
