Four suspected Boko Haram members have been arrested by security operatives in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
It was learnt their arrest was prompted by the killing of one State Security Services (SSS) officer and a civilian in the metropolis at 4pm yesterday.
The incident caused commotion at the famous Borno Express Central Motor Park located beside the SSS office along the Kano-Jos Road.? The SSS operatives allegedly engaged suspected members of Boko Haram sect in a serious exchange of gunfire, where a grasshopper seller was killed.
LEADERSHIP SUNDAY learnt that four of thesuspects were arrested in the presence of people around.
Although people took to hiding during the pandemonium that ensued,the names of the grasshopper seller and SSS killed by stray or shot bullets were yet to be disclosed as at the time of filing in the report.
Also at about the same period yesterday, two suspected Boko Haram suspects were trapped in their hideout at an abandoned building in Bulunkutu area leading to the Joint Task Force (JTF) operatives condoning off all routes linking the area.
