Students of?Nasarawa State University, Keffi, have?urged?Gov. Umaru Tanko Al-Makura to ensure the restoration of water supply to the state capital and its environs.
Mr Tijani Omame, the President of the students union of the institution, made the call on Monday in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lafia.
Omame said that the call had become imperative due to the hardship being faced by the people in Keffi local government area of the state and the?students on the campus.
The students urged the state government and the management of the state water board to act quickly in the interest of all.
“He who provides water provides life; there is urgent need for the state government to come to the aid of the people in Keffi by providing them with water in order to reduce their hardship as well as save their lives”, the statement said.
Omame, who lamented the absence of water supply in Keffi and its environs for the past two weeks, described the situation as unfortunate.
The president further said that the?lack of water on campus and its environs, would make life unbearable for students as they could?longer concentrate on their academic activities.
He equally called on the management of the university to embark on palliative measures to provide water for the students (NAN)
