The Managing Director/CEO of Nigerian Export Import Bank (NEXIM), Mr. Roberts Orya, has met with the top management team of The Crown Agents led by its Chief Executive, Mr. Terence Jagger, at the headquarters of NEXIM Bank in Abuja to explore how the two organisations could collaborate in strengthening human and technical capacities of the bank.
According to a statement issued by the bank’s Head of Corporate Communication, Mr Chinedu Moghalu, Crown Agents, is an international development agency which specialises in working with public, private sector and non-profit entities’ leaders across the world to make profound changes to systems, organisations and society.
While welcoming the team, Mr Orya commended the Crown Agents for the level of expertise and commitment they have deployed in improving good governance and capacity for several public finance institutions, commercial and investment banks, supply chains, etc. which in turn,? has led to appreciable increase in prosperity, and poverty reduction in various communities and economies.
Going forward, the NEXIM boss said the bank would work with the organisation in the areas of capacity building and strengthening for both the NEXIM Bank’s staff and its export-oriented clients in the MASS Sectors.
He observed that NEXIM had in the past accessed the expertise of The Crown Agents for its staff capacity training needs, and noted that the bank’s greatest asset was its human capacity adding that the quality of the NEXIM’s staff was not comparable to what was obtainable in any Ministry, Department or Agency of Government in Nigeria.
