The Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) have thrown their weight behind Rivers State Governor and Chairman Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), Rt. Hon. Chubuike Rotimi Amaechi during the??executive committee visit to the governor yesterday.

“The needs of the people are not really much. They want good health care, a health care system that works, they want security, they want shelter, they want good roads, they want power, they want jobs and if you can provide most of that you become their hero.
We have seen that your government is doing all that and more for the people, so we are glad to be here today and we pledge that as long as you stand for the people and with the people, the Nigerian editors will also stand by you and with you,” the exco of the NGE said.

Responding, Governor Amaechi??thanked the members of the NGE, saying “Let me also thank all of you for the different roles you have played in the course of the struggle, I mean the struggle of the masses between those of us who think that I should be allowed to preside over the Governors’ Forum and those who are opposed.

I thank you for standing for Nigerians, and for standing for the people.”
