The ongoing examination at the Tai Solarin College of Education (TASCE), Omu-Ijebu in Ogun, was on Tuesday disrupted by students suspected to be cult members.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) gathered that the suspected cult members stormed the examination hall to protest their exclusion by the school authorities from writing the examination.

It was learnt that the school management had prevented students who did not pay up their school fees from writing the examination.

The students in their large number were said to have chased their fellow students and lecturers out of the examination hall, insisting that they must be allowed to write the examination.

The school authority in the process of addressing the situation called for help from the Odogbolu police station, which immediately responded to the call.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), name withheld, was said to have be assaulted by the suspected cult members and his car ?damaged.

Some of the staff of the college were also said to have been assaulted.

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ademuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident, saying that some arrests were made by the police.

He said that investigation has also commenced on the matter.

The College Registrar, Mr. Tunji Kanimodo, who later addressed newsmen, said the state government has approved the expulsion of 26 students over their role in the crisis.

Kanimodo, however, said the examination would continue as scheduled, adding that appropriate security provisions would be put in place to prevent further break down of law and order. (NAN)
