At least two Fulani herdsmen have been allegedly killed, while 226 cows were said to have either? been rustled or killed around the villages of Rangyal, Sabon Gidan Kanar, Vom, Gero, Gyal, Rim and Joil communities of Jos South and Riyom local government areas of Plateau State.
A source confided to our correspondent in Jos yesterday that earlier this week, one cattle boy? Sani Ja’i, was killed and beheaded a long Gero Village.
State Secretary of Miyetti-Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Malam Muhammad Nura Abdullahi, when contacted, said he learnt of the incident, adding that on Wednesday, another Fulani boy, Ahmad Kankade, was also killed around Joil, Rim axis in Riyom LGA, along with his 40 cows.
Abdullahi further said that 186, cows were rustled within Jos South between Tuesday and Wednesday this week, and taken into Vom villages, where most of them were slaughtered.
He revealed that he had informed the Special Task Force (STF) on Security, urging them to try to end? the killing and rustling of the Fulani cows in the area.
“We are appealing to them to address the situation and prevent it from escalating, and getting out of hands,” he said.
