The under-23 national team of Nigeria were beaten 2-0 by Libya in a qualification match for the African championships, on Wednesday.
The team led by Imama Amakpakabo conceded the first goal just six minutes after kick-off in Ben Guardane.
After the goal, Nigeria controlled play from the midfield but failed to convert.
Goalkeeper, Adamu handled the ball outside the 18-yard box and was subsequently sent off before the half-time whistle.
Having lost a man in the first half, the team entered the second half with a goal deficit; this was doubled by the hosts at the 69th minute.
The Libyans sealed a comfortable win for an advantage over the Nigerians who host the North African nation on Monday, March 25, at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.
The qualification is for a place in the 2019 CAF U23 Championship holding in Egypt.
