Super Eagles of Nigeria coach, Gernot Rohr, has said the team needs to improve play in the wake of the 3-1 win over Seychelles.
Nigeria defeated the Pirates of Seychelles in the last game day of qualifiers for the 2019 AFCON.
Goals from Odion Ighalo, Henry Onyekuru and Moses Simon ensured Nigeria secured a double win over the Island nation.
“They only defended,” Rohr was quoted by ESPN. “It was attack against defence, so we tried to come in from the wings.”
“We made a lot of mistakes still in the construction of the game, so we have to improve.”
Melanie Rody pulled one back for the Seychelles team through an error by Francis Uzoho.
Rohr said that such errors are common and can “happen to anybody.”
