Gombe State government has released over N4 billion for the construction of 23 kilometre network of roads linking three Local Government areas of the State; ?Ture-Sabon Layi-Awak-Dogon Ruwa in Kaltungo Local Government and Billiri-Gujuba-Talase in Balanga and Billirir Local Government Areas.

The state Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo who disclosed this while flagging-off the road construction at Billiri town, said the Ture- Sabon Layi Awak-Dogon Ruwa road was been awarded to AYU civil Engineering Ltd at the cost of N2.9 billion.
He explained further that the Billiri-Gujuba to Talase in Balanga local government area ?was also awarded to the same construction company at over N2.5 billion and promised to flag-off additional three link roads very soon.
Alhaji Dankwambo said in an effort to improve the living standard of people in the state, the government was intensifying efforts to improve on some existing water schemes that would provide potable water to inhabitants of Gombe south senatorial district and Kumo town in the Central senatorial district.

The governor also said that the ministry of works was to design and prepare tender document for a number of township roads in Billiri, Kaltungo and some towns in Shongom local government areas in order to open up the whole area for more economic activities . ?
Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo commended the Ministry of Works for a job well done and urged them to closely supervise the road under construction to ensure timely delivery of the projects.?
He also urged the construction firms handling the projects to ensure that the quality was not compromised in any aspect.
