They had been rumoured to be dating earlier this week after he was spotted leaving her house. But now Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler have officially confirmed their relationship, by indulging in a passionate display of affection.
But a source close to the High School Musical actress, who split from Zac Efron earlier this year, said she isn't taking her new relationship too seriously.
The insider told Hollywoodlife.com: “It isn’t a serious thing at all. She’s having fun hooking up with him but no official relationship has flourished yet. It’s a friends with benefits situation.”
On Tuesday, Butler, a 20-year-old Disney actor, was spotted leaving Vanessa's home in Los Angeles.
Wearing black jeans, black trainers and a printed white t-shirt, the blonde star walked out of the 22-year-old High School Musical star's house to a car parked nearby.
Austin, who once played Jamie Lynn Spears's love interest on Zoey 101, recently co-starred in the Disney movie Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure, alongside Vanessa's best friend Ashley Tisdale.
He also regularly guest stars on the ABC Family series Switched at Birth and has previously appeared on CSI: New York, Life Unexpected and Ruby & the Rockits.
The actress recently wrapped filming a gritty role as a pregnant teenager in low-budget movie Gimme Shelter and has been enjoying a bit of free time.
Earlier this year, she was rumoured to be dating her Journey 2: Mysterious Island co-star Josh Hutcherson.
