The Chairman of Yobe State Pilgrims Commission (YSPC), Barr. Usman Ibrahim Al-Arab, who disclosed this to journalists in his office yesterday, said the exercise would commence from Monday, October 3, 2011, through Maiduguri International Airport in Borno State.?
He pointed out that the state government, through the Pilgrims’ Board, has made every arrangement to ensure a successful Hajj operation with the expected blessings from Allah.?
?
?
These arrangements he said, include preparing the state Hajj camp for accommodating the intending pilgrims before their departure to Maiduguri Airport, adding that due to the insecurity situation in Borno State, arrangements, have been made to ensure the security of the pilgrims from Yobe to Maiduguri Airport and to the holy land.?
?
?
The board, he said, was also contracting the Med-View Airline, with a larger air cargo that would carry about 500 pilgrims for a single trip, adding that this would ensure early and quick transportation of the pilgrims to the holy land as against the delay encountered last year due to the use of smaller air cargos.?
?
?
This improvement would result in about just six trips as against the 11 trips encountered in the last Hajj operation.?
To ensure the health of the pilgrims he said, arrangements were made for medical personnel to accompany the pilgrims to and from the Holy Land, while accommodation were secured for them near Jedda, for easy movement of the pilgrims there at the Holy Land. ? ?
?
?
He said, due to the much importance given to the exercise by the state government, more incentives have been given for exercise at the Holy Land which includes free Haram, Ram for Hadaya, and 40 percent discount on accommodation among other paraphernalia for the intending pilgrims.?
He added that the BTA of the intending pilgrims were being made ready to avoid any delay that may arise in that direction.?
?
?
He said it was expected that the first flight would be transporting the first batch of 500 pilgrims from Nguru, Potiskum local government.?
