Al-Makure Inaugurates 50 Roads In Lafia

Nasarawa State governor, Umaru Al-Mahura, has flagged off the construction of 50 street roads in Lafia, the state capital, during which he lamented that the complete absence of physical development in the state was the source of worry to the present Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) administration in the state.

During the flag-off recently, Governor Al-Makura said that his government would leave no stone unturned to ensure that it met the yearnings and aspirations of the citizens of the state in order to provide access road and to ease the hardship faced by commuters.??

“The construction of the roads will reduce the gridlocks of traffic in the city centre, thereby reducing the over concentration of motorcycles on the highways and the high risk of accidents associated with it,” Al-makura said.

The governor, who lamented the poor state of Lafia as the state capital, said the roads would give it a befitting look reminiscent of other state capitals in the country.

? According to him, while the state government would construct an intermediate by-pass, the federal government on its part would construct the western and eastern by-pass to further decongest the heavy traffic that had been the nightmare of the state capital. ?
