A? group, Kaduna? Peace Forum (KPF) yesterday said that the National Honour of ‘Commander of the Order of the Niger’ (CON) conferred on Kaduna State Governor,? Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, was long overdue.
?
The group averred that considering the many years of hard work and exemplary sense of patriotism exhibited by the governor over the years, the honour was well deserved.
?
A statement signed by the forum’s chairman, Ibrahim Mohammed and?? its secretary, Gabriel Maiyashi, reads, “the award is long overdue considering the? hard work and exemplary sense of patriotism exhibited by Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa over the years in several offices even before becoming a Governor.”
?
“The award is both worthy and deserving, coming at the apex of Yakowa’s state and national service to Nigeria and an appreciation of his quest for the development of Kaduna State and the Nation,” the statement further read.
?
The Group said, “Governor Yakowa was a District Officer, a sole administrator of an LG, Commissioner, an SSG, a Permanent Secretary in both state and federal civil service, a Minister of the federal republic of Nigeria, a Deputy Governor for five years and now an Executive Governor. And in all these times that he was at the helm of all the various offices he had occupied, he had never left any office in any controversial circumstance and has so far kept his integrity intact.”
