Hold Elite Responsible For Security Challenges – Ex NYSC Boss

The Former Director of Corp Welfare of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Dr John Abhuere has disclosed that the elite were responsible for the current security challenges wrecking havoc in the country.

He made the disclosure in Abuja yesterday while delivering a lecture titled, ‘Leadership’ during the 4th Edition of African Leader par excellence Award organized by Accolade Communication Lagos in conjunction with International Institute of Comparative leadership for Africans and Blacks in Diaspora.

“The elite are responsible for the current security challenges because it takes some fortune to manufacture a bomb and without the sect getting sponsors from the elite, where will they get money to acquire cars and other valuables when many are yet to be employed.

According to him, leaders and leadership are often drawn from the elite class in any society but the elite are so influential that they cannot but are brought into leadership position and it’s from their class that they get leaders recruited. You have to be a member of the elite to be recruited as a leader.

In his address, the Editor in Chief, Accolade Communications, Dr Luke Okojie described the award as an exclusive event that showcases the hero and heroines in Nigeria that have distinguished themselves in their respective professions.

He commended the awardees for their efforts in contributing to the growth and development of the nation saying that it was better to honour men and women while alive than playing lip service after their demise.

About 32 Nigerians were honoured with African Leader Par Excellence award including the Director-general of National Gallery of Arts, Dr Abdullahi Muku and FCT Commissioner of Police, Michael Zuokomor.
