As more aspirants continue to emerge to vie for the office of the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, the political group, North-East Movement for Good Leadership Forum, yesterday endorsed the former secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), Alhaji Mahmud Yayale for the party’s top job.
In a press statement signed by the forum’s chairman and secretary, Mr. Sale Tambari and Yusuf Muh’d Inuwa, the forum described the former SGF as the most qualified and eligible aspirant in the region to contest the exalted seat.
“The forum sees Yayale as a man of integrity, and the most experienced and strongest candidate to be presented by the North East in the coming PDP election,” the statement said.
They therefore called on the former SGF not to hesitate to vie for the seat, saying “the forum has already set the machinery in motion for the actualization of that ambition.”
The political group also urged all PDP stalwarts in the region to put their weight behind Yayale to ensure he is elected the party’s national chairman.
LEADERSHIP gathered that Yayale, who is from Bauchi State, would have to contend with the former governor of the state, Alhaji Ahmed Muazu, who has already indicated his interest in the seat, and another strong contender, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur from Adamawa State, all from the North East geo-political region.
