Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Suleiman Kawu Sumaila (ANPP, Kano) has commended President Goodluck Jonathan over the appointment of Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar as the acting new Inspector-General of Police.
In a statement issued in Abuja yesterday, Sumaila described the acting IG as a serious minded and well-trained officer who had distinguished himself over the years with a clean record of achievements and incorruptibility.
He urged the new police helmsman not to disappoint the President and Nigerians who have entrusted him with the responsibility of providing security for lives and property across the country especially in this critical times of serious insecurity.
He said, “Abubakar should shun any act of corruption but to rather see himself as a team player determined to restore hope, dignity and lost confidence among the populace and live above board in the discharge of his duties”.
The lawmaker prayed Almighty God to grant him the wisdom to carry out his duties diligently and effectively to the best of his ability.
