Men of the Kogi State Police Command, Tuesday night, killed two suspected armed robbers in a gun duel.
LEADERSHIP reliably gathered that the hoodlums were killed at about 11.pm at?? Bada village, few kilometres from the State capital on Lokoja – Abuja high way.
The crack team of policemen, who was on night patrol on the road, according to our sources, stumbled on a road block mounted by the robbers to ease their operation.
Our correspondent further gathered that when the robbery suspects noticed that a police vehicle was approaching, they started firing at them.
The police wasted no time in responding with full force, a process that led to the gunning down of two of the hoodlums, while others escaped with bullet wound.
The spokesman of Kogi State Police Command, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident when contacted.
He disclosed that two locally made single barrel guns, two cutlasses, 16 live cartridges, 18 different phones and a gulf car were recovered from the robbers.
