It was a gory sight? in the Yenizue-Gene suburb of Yenagoa, Tuesday evening when a lorry crushed two persons on a commercial motorcycle to death, causing heavy vehicular traffic along the Sani Abacha Way in the state.
The incident occurred at the Bay bridge end of the usually busy Isaac Boro Expressway in the heart of the capital city.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the commercial motorcyclist, otherwise known as “Okada rider” died on the spot, while his passenger sustained serious injuries.
According to eyewitness, the driver of the lorry, with registration number XP 498 AUC immediately took to his heels to avoid being lynched by angry mob that besieged the scene.
“The driver of the lorry was on a high speed and he rammed into the motorcyclist, carrying a passenger and in the process crushed them from behind. The motorcyclist, whose body was mangled as a result of the accident died on the spot. The man sitting beside him sustained severe injuries,” said an eyewitness.
