The police in Lagos on Thursday arraigned 10 persons, who allegedly fought in a public place, over missing snails.
They were charged before an Ikorodu Magistrates' Court but they pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge.
According to the prosecutor, Sgt. Iyabode Johnson, the 10 persons, and others still at large, fought publicly on March 3 at 10 a.m. in the Oluwoye community, Ibeshe, Ikorodu.
She said the fight started when one of the defendants, Ganiu Olaigbe (46),? accused the others of stealing his snails.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 54 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Magistrate Olufunke Hamzat granted the defendants bail in the sum of N20,000 and one surety.
She adjourned further hearing of the case till March 23. (NAN)
