Osun State government has frowned at the incessant rape of teenagers across? the? state, promising that the state government would not fold its arms and watch the abuse of women and children.
It also stated that the state would ensure that anybody involved in the rape of teenagers no matter his position in the society would be brought to book.
While commenting on the incessant rape of the teenagers in the state in recent time, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Mofolake Adegboyega expressed worry over the more than six cases of rape of under age in the last few weeks, wondering why the incident involved children, in spite of the high percentage of matured women around the state.
LEADERSHIP SUNDAY recalls that cases of rape of innocent girls of under ten years of age were recorded in some parts of the state recently which has been the concern of all and sundry.
Mrs. Adegboyega reiterated that the present administration in the state would not take the issue with levity, as it would ensure that the Child Rights Law was implemented to the letters and also ensure that the culprits are sentenced to life imprisonment as provided by the law of the land.
