Edo PDP Expresses Shock At Murder Of Oshiomhole’ Aide

The PDP in Edo on Monday described the death of Mr Olaitan Oyerinde, the Principal Private Secretary to Gov. Adams Oshiomhole as “wicked surprise and huge loss to the state.’’

This was contained in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Mr Matthew Urhoghide in Benin.

It stated:? “the news of Oyerinde’s death came to some of us who knew him and even those who never met this fine, respectful young man as a wicked surprise, huge loss and a very dangerous development in our state.

“Olaitan was a harmless, urbane person, who would not hurt a fly. His killers deserve no mercy even in hell fire at the appropriate time. ’’

On the governor’s threat to use other options to unravel the death, the party cautioned Oshiomhole “not to resort to unjustified reprisal attacks and or uncivilised means to resolve the matter.

“As he promised, if he carries his threat through and unleashes terror, the state will be worse off than it already is because we will do everything we may to square up to any provocation directed at us.”

The party, however, said: “the PDP joins its voice with Oshiomhole to demand the speedy, high-powered and thorough probe of the accident that claimed the lives of three reporters and Oyerinde's death and to make the findings public.

“Our party will take definite steps to oppose any attempts to sweep the results of the investigation under the carpet as all Nigerians are expecting to hear who actually did what in the execution of the dastardly acts.”
