As activities of the dreaded islamic sect, Boko Haram continue unabated,? the Prelate, Methodist Church of Nigeria, His Eminence, Ola Makinde, yesterday said that neither the sect nor anybody could islamise Nigeria.
This was just as he called for convocation of a national conference in the country to enable Nigerians sit down and discuss the future of their country.
Makinde spoke at Mpu community in Aninri local government area of Enugu State during the funeral service of his Royal Highness, Igwe Mathias Ekweremadu, father of the Deputy Senate president.
He said he was unhappy when one of the country’s political leaders described Boko Haram members as people fighting for their right despite incessant destruction of lives and property by the group.
The head of the Methodist Church in the country insisted that Boko Haram members were not fighting for their right, saying they even make use of innovations of western education which they claim is bad.
“I am disappointed with that leader who said the Boko Haram was fighting for justice. What type of justice? They say that western education is evil and they are using telephone, they are using e-mail and they are saying they will islamise Nigeria;? nobody can islamize Nigeria,” he stated.
