The Kogi state Governor, Capt.? Idris Wada at the weekend said he was not afraid of next week’s court judgment.? A federal High Court in Abuja is due to deliver a landmark judgement in one of the myriad of cases instituted against the governor since his victory at the polls.
Captain Idris Wada had on Thursday paid a visit to the National Secretariat of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) where he discussed some issues with the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur? on the need for reconciliation of members of the party in Kogi state.
Special Adviser, Media and Strategy to Governor Wada, Jacob Edi explained in Lokoja at the weekend that the governors’s visit has nothing to do with the court case.
“The government of Capt. Idris Wada has enough respect for the rule of law to know that all he needs to win his cases as he has done since the beginning of litigations against him as governor of Kogi State,? is simply to have a good case, and he has one,” Edi stated.
“The governor was at the PDP headquarters to pay a courtesy call on the leadership of the party and also congratulate the new NWC. And for anybody to think the governor of the state with all the paraphernalia of office, with all lawmakers from the state as well as all other stakeholders, will travel to Abuja just to beg for a certain case to be dropped by just a certain individual, just so that he wins a certain case, is simply over-ambitious,” the Special Adviser added.
Wada’s desire for genuine reconciliation has been on since his inaugural address when he took over the helms of affairs from former governor,? Edi added.
