The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, African Integration and Niger Nationals Abroad of the Republic of Niger has commended the Commission of the Economic Community of West African State (ECOWAS) in Abuja.
Also, the President of the Republic, Mr. IssoufouMahamadou, has decided to present awards to the members of the ECOWAS delegation that travelled to Niger following the outbreak of the serious political crisis in Niger as a result of the unlawful manipulations of the country’s Constitution.
According to a statement made available to Leadership, the awards will be given in the order of the Commander of the National Order of Merit of Niger, Senator LawanGanaGuba; former Minister of Cooperation, General Seth Obeng; Ambassador Wisdom Baiye and General Ishola William.
Additionally, an award on the Officer of the National Order of Merit of Niger would also be given to Mr. Mohamed Diagne; Mr. BabacarGueye; Dr. Abdel Fatau Musa; Dr. KwameAsante-Darko and Pierrette Kpegba.
In that regard, the Ministry requested the ECOWAS Commission to facilitate the presence of the awardees in Niamey, under the leadership of President Adulsalami, to receive their awards from the President of the Republic on the occasion of the festivities of 3rd August 2012.
