A socio-political group in Osun State, the Osun Development Agenda (ODA) has declared that the? administration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola in the state was not driven by vendetta, just as it described the immediate past governor of the state and now National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola as a maximum ruler.
Briefing? newsmen yesterday in Osogbo? on he 21st anniversary of the state, the deputy convener of the group, Barrister Shenge Rahman also alleged that the administration of Oyinlola was characterised by maiming, killings and brutalising of the political opponents in the State.
Barrister Rahman stressed that the present government in the state was not like the era of Oyinola, where the government and PDP officials were above the law, saying that the organisation would not keep silent until the state government prosecutes those indicted in the white paper of the committee set up? to look into the violation of human rights during the seven and half years of? Oyinola’s government.
He further stated? that the group believed the state government wanted to get its facts before prosecuting the indicted persons, noting that their prosecution? is a constitutional matter.
His words:”The seven and half years before November 27,2010 remain an era of unmitigated disaster for Osun state during which those who presided over the affairs of the state behaved in a manner reminiscent of buccaneers? and brigands.
The only language they seemed to understand was looting, killing and maiming. By the time Oyinlola and his co-travelers were evicted from their illegally occupied seat of power, Osun has become dilapidated, decrepit and desolate”.
