Two men, Iliasu Mufutau, 26, and Michael Ezekiel, 23, were on Friday arraigned before an Ibadan Chief Magistrate’s Court for alleged armed robbery.
The prosecutor, Insp.Adewale Amos, said Mufutau and Ezekiel allegedly rob one Ibrahim Abubakar of his cell phone valued at N14,500 and N7,000 cash, totalling N21,500 while armed with a gun.
Amos added that the two accused, while armed with a gun, also stole N77,000 cash belonging to one Olutokunbo Akinjo.
He said the incident happened on Sept. 30 at Plot 4B, Olorombo Layout, Bashorun area, Ibadan.
Amos said the offences contravened Section 6 (b), 1, (2) (a) (b) of Robbery and Firearms (Special Provision) Act Cap R II Laws of Federation of Nigeria 2004.
The accused have no fixed address and no plea was taken on their behalf.
Chief Magistrate Fatimoh Badrudeen ruled that the accused be remanded at the prison custody.
Badrudeen, who ordered the prosecutor to make the case file available to the office of the Director of Public Prosecution for legal advice, adjourned the case to Dec.3. (NAN)
