An unemployed man, Stephen Francis, 19, was on Friday charged arraigned before a Surulere Magistrates' Court, Lagos, for allegedly impersonating a military personnel.
Francis was arraigned on a two-count charge of unlawful possession of military camouflage trouser and impersonation of army personnel.
Prosecutor Jamiu Rahmon told the court that the impostor on Nov. 24 paraded himself as an army officer to one Nkechi Igbo, at No. 30 Animashaun Street, Aguda, Surulere in Lagos.
Rahmon said that the accused used the military camouflage to intimidate the complainant and threatened to arrest her.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 328 (d) and 378 (1) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.
Francis, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.?
Also arraigned was Sabi Omogui, 22, who was charged with attempting to dispossess one Iheanocho Ukaegbu, of his valuables, including a handset and wallet, with a broken bottle.
The prosecutor said that? Omogui committed the offence on Nov. 22 at Enitan Street, Aguda, Surulere.
He said that the alleged offence contravened Section 21(1) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs M.A. Ladipo, granted the two accused bail in the sum of N50,000? with two sureties each in like sum.
