Hospital CMDs Laud Akpabio On Healthcare Delivery

The Association of Chief Executives of Federal Tertiary Hospitals (ACEFTH) have commended the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Godswill Akpabio for the provision of modern health facilities in state-owned hospitals and the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH).

ACEFTH Chairman, Prof. George Akpede, made the commendation at the 68th quarterly meeting of the association in Uyo, the state capital.

The meeting was opened by Akpabio, who was represented by the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Bassey Antai.

Akpede lauded Akpabio for providing financial incentives for health workers in the state, adding that his efforts were in tandem with the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) on healthcare delivery.

He also mentioned the free medical treatment initiated by the governor for pregnant women, the elderly and children as well as financial support for key infrastructural projects at UUTH.

“The association notes with delight the cordial relationship between the government of Akwa Ibom State and the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital which is manifest in the thriving partnership on healthcare delivery, with attendant significant gains in the health status of the people of the state as well as landmark infrastructural developments in the teaching hospital”, he said.
