Man Arraigned In Enugu For Impersonating NESREA

A man, who allegedly impersonated the National Environmental? Standard Regulatory and Enforcement Agency (NESREA) was on Wednesday arraigned before the Federal?High Court sitting in Enugu.

Jude Alagbado was arraigned on a four-count charge bordering on the forgery of the organisation’s letter-headed papers to dupe some corporate bodies.

The suspect allegedly forged the signature of the Director-General of NESREA and illegally issued compliance verification demand notice and penal fees to the organisations.

The accused person wrote to the court through his lawyer, Mr Gabriel Uzoigwe, to plead for his inability to attend the session following his admission in a hospital in Kano.

The defence lawyer said the accused was on his way to Kano to inform his elder sister about their mother’s death when he had an accident.

He also said that he called the accused person’s physician and he said that he would be discharged in four months time.

The Judge, Justice D.V. Agishi, said the case would be adjourned till June 19 to enable the accused recover from his ailment. (NAN)
