About 20 bodies have been evacuated from the site of the bomb explosion at the UN House in Abuja, while security personnel have cordoned off the area.
LEADERSHIP gathered that a man suspected to be a suicide bomber, rammed his car, which was loaded with explosives into the United Nations building, and the building was instantly engulfed by fire.
?Alessandra Vellucci, a spokeswoman for the UN office in Geneva, confirmed the incidence, saying, “its offices in Abuja had been bombed”.
Meanwhile, authorities of the National Hospital have made public announcements urging Abuja residents to come and donate blood in order to be able to handle the needs of the injured.
Rescue work at the site is being rounded off; however it is not yet clear if every worker and visitor in the building has been accounted for.
