HIV Cure: Benue Lawmakers Fault Abdullahi’s Claims

Benue State House of Assembly has describe ed as “false” the recent claims by one Dr. Jacob Abdullahi that he has found the cure for HIV/AIDS.

Abdullahi, who is the Managing Director of Winners Diagnostic Laboratories, Makurdi, was reportedly brought in to the state by Dr. Terkula Suswam, the immediate elder brother of Governor Suswam.

In an interview with LEADERSHIP in Makurdi, Chairman House Committee on Health and Human services, Francis Ogwuche, disclosed that the Assembly was not in any way comfortable with the operations of Abdullahi, because his claims that he has the drug would cause more harm than good to the health of the populace.

“The people must beware. We have already directed NAFDAC to investigate his claims. But the House of Assembly is not at war as a lot of people are speculating.

The thing is that, instead of subjecting people to various concoctions,we urged people living with HIV to continue taking their anti-virus drugs,” Ogwuche stated.
He called on the people in the state to stop patronising Dr. Abdullahi and his products and insisted that there was no cure for HIV/AIDS yet.He urged them to, instead, take their anti retroviral therapy from hospitals designated by the government.

In the same vein, the State commissioner for Health and Human services, Dr.Orduen Abunku had confirmed that his ministry had already announced that people living with HIV/AIDS and on treatment should not stop taking their drugs nor mix the same with any herbal concoction.

“This is a very false claim. We have already made public announcement on radio advising people living with HIV/AIDS not to halt their medications nor mix them with any of their medications with any herbs from anywhere,” the commissioner uttered.
