Kaduna Donates N250,000 To Family Of Deceased Soldier

The Kaduna State Government has donated N250,000 to the family of Warrant Officer Abel Marcus of 1 Division, Intelligence Group, Nigerian Army, who died in May while on a national assignment during the post-election violence in the area, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) has learnt.

A statement by Capt. Kamarudeen Adegoke on behalf of the Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 1 Division Nigerian Army, said that “although the soldier died a natural death, the state government deemed it fit to bring succour to his family’’.

Speaking at the presentation of the donation to the family, the General Officer Commanding, 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Maj.-Gen. Joseph Shoboiki, commended the state government’s efforts in assisting the division.

He advised the wife of the deceased, Mrs. Pwahabeshi Marcus, to make judicious use of the donation in raising her children and empowering herself with a source of livelihood.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Col. Gabriel Mamman (rtd), commended the performance of the officers and men of the division during the post-election violence in the state.
He attributed the restoration of peace in the state to the prompt response of the division during the crisis. (NAN)
